Breaking Up to Reach Your Breakthrough

Do you have a burning feeling that you need to break up with someone or something? Perhaps it’s a gut instinct, perhaps it’s intuition. You keep hearing that niggling little voice, telling you something or someone is holding you back and keeping you from living the life you’re called to live.

When we think about having a breakthrough or going on a different trajectory in our lives, we have to take a step back. Then we have to ask ourselves some serious questions – and answer them honestly.

What old thoughts, patterns, belief systems, or even habits or fears are you allowing into your present life that are keeping you stuck and living a lesser life than what you could be living?

These questions often pop up in my coaching and consulting work with clients. When they’ve answered, we discover what it is they have to “break up” with.  We identify the clutter that keeps them stuck.

In order to make space for a larger life, or being a larger presence in your business or your work, make a conscious effort to let go of the things that are holding you back.

As a coach and mentor, I work with entrepreneurs, business leaders, and business owners looking to expand their business growth. Interestingly, adopting a healthier lifestyle and weight loss are topics that often arise when we talk about changing negative self-talk. Here are a few examples of what I hear:

“Oh, I worked out today so I deserve to have a bigger meal.”

“I’ve tried this before and it didn’t work so it’s not going to happen this time.”

“I succeeded in my role today so I deserve a treat.”

We then explore what it is that might keep them from losing weight in a fun, easy, and enjoyable way. What do they need to break up with, in order to get the result they want? It might be old habits. It might be mindless eating, or it might be sabotaging the process with believing popular mistruths.

In the business realm, I also come across many sabotaging actions and beliefs that are holding us back. What do you need to break up with to have your breakthrough?

Playing it safe

Sometimes we think that, by having a smaller business, we create a little safe bubble. We believe that we can keep everything under control. As long as we don’t cross boundaries, we won’t be criticized for doing anything wrong. What are the results of believing this thought?

  • We are keeping ourselves trapped in our self-created prison. We are doing a disservice to the true passion and potential that we are capable of reaching.
  • From our “safe” vantage point, we look at what others are doing and feel like a failure.

Allowing fear to rule our thoughts

All entrepreneurs, successful business owners and professionals who I know have chosen to move forward, despite feelings of fear. For those who feel at a stuck point, we often have the following thoughts ruling our thinking:

  • Negative self-talk convinces us that we are playing it small to save others. “If I don’t take chances, I can’t lose anything.”
  • We convince ourselves that we don’t have enough capabilities to play full out or to play a larger game.
  • We even ask, “Who am I to step into larger opportunities, increase my successes, build a larger business and be this happy?”

What can you do?

  1. Step Back

Commit to take a step back and really look at your limiting beliefs.

  1. Break Up

Choose to break up with those old patterns that are keeping you from truly experiencing the life, the joy, the success, the profits, the weight loss, the better relationships with your families, or whatever it might be that you want for your life.

  1. Step Forward

Dare to be brave in stepping forward; stepping into your true essence, stepping into that platform that you know is waiting for you.

How can I help?

If you are an entrepreneur, start-up business, or a growing business who knows it is time to reach the next level, I can help. My passion is helping to grow other people’s dreams and igniting the flame we know is inside.

I currently run mastermind groups and I’m excited to be launching more in the near future for more people to experience the power of a peer group and really soar to the next level.

For me, my breaking up commitment means that I’m launching more groups because that is what I love! I love taking the actions that I did wrong in my early start-up years to teach people how to accelerate their ultimate success experience.

Are you ready? I know I am. There is no time like now. Let’s get moving together, let’s break up with the old patterns and the old beliefs and declare that this is our time and we are ready!

Love, peace, joy, and commitment on the journey are keys. Reach out – let’s get started now.

PS: Mastermind groups concentrate on various topics, particularly on weight loss for business leaders and entrepreneurs, as well as a Level up Bootcamp for entrepreneurs and business leaders who are ready to take their successes to an elevated platform. If you are interested in joining a group in the future, email me at sandy@sandyhansenwolff.com to get on the waiting list.
